Many of us who work alongside James have been with him for a decade or more. Some have developed their careers in different parts of the collection, whilst others have developed new and different roles as their careers have progressed. All share the same exceptional passion for delighting our guests which is why one of our Managers, Derek West, is fronting VisitScotland's latest campaign to encourage guests to visit Scotland and meet some "real Scots!"

Previous waiting experience, impeccable grooming, enthusiam and a warm and engaging manner are important as Prestonfield's banquetting operation is part of a busy and successful five star venue.

Banqueting Chefs
Why not join our skilled and enthusiastic brigade working in a busy modern environment with some of Scotland's best food and produce?
A great opportunity is now available for experienced Chefs de Partie and Commis Chefs to become involved in Prestonfield's busy and exciting banqueting kitchen team.
Prestonfield is proud to be Scotland's highest-rated hotel, holding both the AA's supreme accolade of 5 red stars and VisitScotland's 5 gold ones too. In 2012 Prestonfield was the highest ranked Scottish hotel in TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice Awards top 25 luxury hotels and the only Scottish hotel to feature in their top 25 European ones too. Prestonfield has a large 500-seat events space, our circular stables, that is a busy and prestigious events venue as well as a collection of busy private dining rooms. Our restaurant, Rhubarb, is one of the city's highest regarded fine dining restaurants with an exceptional menu that changes frequently to reflect the best-available seasonal ingredients.

Prestonfield offers endless variety and an opportunity to develop your skills. We hang much of our own meat and game, virtually everything is made in-house, our own pastry kitchens delivering the best of afternoon teas and puddings and we can even forage for ingredients in the hotel's grounds.
Prestonfield offers a great working environment a few minutes from the Royal Mile. We operate a bike to work scheme, offer free parking and are close to bus routes. As well as working with the very best of seasonal ingredients we offer a great opportunity to develop your skills. We hang most of our meat and game, we smoke our own produce, have an exceptionally busy pastry section and even forage for ingredients in our own grounds.

Prestonfield is justifiably proud of our exceptional pastry team. As well as creating seasonal puddings for our destination restaurant, Rhubarb, they create all of the wonderful cakes and pastries that make Prestonfield's one of the most highly-regarded Afternoon Teas in Scotland.

Housekeepers
Prestonfield has just 23 ultra-luxurious rooms and suites that are regarded as among the best hotel rooms in the UK.
Maintaining these to a high standard is a vital part of our guest's experience, so our housekeeping team are vitally important and are a key part of the team that make our guest's stay so memorable. Enthusiasm, good presentation and a passionate attention to detail are a great advantage.
