The Fringe at Prestonfield

We are delighted to confirm The Fringe at Prestonfield will return from 16th – 25th August 2024 and will be once again hosted by the wonderful Christopher Biggins who requests your pleasure for our second season of cabaret and chat at Prestonfield this Fringe season. 

Our programme is as packed as last year with Katherine Ryan and Lulu and shows from Kerry Ellis & John Owen-Jones, Dean Friedman, Jasper Carrott & Alistair McGowan, Hayley Mills, Janet Street-Porter and more still to be announced!  

Join us throughout The Fringe at Prestonfield and enjoy an array of refreshments including Champagne, beers, Pimms, pizza and ice cream in our Fringe Garden before or after your show. Everyone is welcome to join our festival celebrations.

Su Pollard in Conversation with Biggins

16th August - 4pm

For 50 years the legendary Su Pollard has delighted audiences, starring in the nation’s best-known TV shows and on stages around the globe in some of the world’s most-loved musicals.

This year, to celebrate, Su is setting off on a major tour across the UK with an all-new one-woman show "Su Pollard: Still Fully Charged" which will bring a national treasure face-to-face with an adoring public to celebrate the amazing characters she has been fortunate enough to play.

One Night, Two Voices

Friday 16th August - 7pm

Two of the finest voices from the West End and Broadway join forces for one night only at Prestonfield. 

West End legends, Kerry Ellis and John Owen-Jones, will perform a much-loved selection of classic songs from musicals Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, We Will Rock You and more... plus a few surprises along the way!

Dame Maureen Lipman

Saturday 17th August - 4pm

Join Christopher Biggins as he chats with Maureen Lipman, a prolific British actress, comedian, columnist, and writer. She trained at LAMDA, following which she joined Laurence Olivier’s National Theatre Company at the Old Vic for two years. Subsequently, she has had a hugely successful and extensive career on screen, television, and radio.

A Couple of Swells

Saturday 17th August - 7pm

La La Land meets The Great American Songbook.

Comedienne and songstress Liza Pulman and musical virtuoso Joe Stilgoe join forces to bring you a brand new show for the Fringe! A Couple of Swells brings together their unique musical styles and stories from two fascinating careers, featuring some of their all-time favourite songs, sprinkled with heaps of panache and a whole lot of dazzle!

A Room of One's Own

18th - 25th August - 2pm

Introducing a different way to look at creativity. 

The award-winning Dyad Productions return with a twenty-first-century take on Virginia Woolf’s blisteringly brilliant pre-TED talk. Take a wry, amusing, and incisive trip through the history of literature, feminism, and gender. Meet Charlotte Brontë, Jane Austen and more. Come and be amused, challenged and changed.

Hayley Mills - Forever Young

Sunday 18th August - 4pm - 5:30pm

With a career that spans over five decades a result of a six-picture deal with Walt Disney, Hayley Mills became one of the biggest child stars of her time.

Talking with Christopher Biggins, Hayley takes us back in time to a bygone era, charting a journey from her carefree childhood innocence in post-war Britain to being mentored by Walt Disney himself. 

Afterwards, there will be the opportunity to purchase a signed copy of Hayley’s autobiography Forever Young and meet Hayley herself.

Paul Zerdin

Sunday 18th August - 7pm

A ventriloquist in a league of his own, join Paul Zerdin as he chats with Christopher Biggins to bring you an evening of comedy at Prestonfield.

Just Amongst Friends

19th - 20th August - 7.30pm

Join Robert Meadmore and Jamie Safir, two great friends of different genres, as they come together for a rare and special evening.

Classical Brit nominee Robert is recognised as one of the West End's finest voices, starring in many of London's most popular musicals including Phantom of the Opera, Brigadoon and My Fair Lady. Jamie, a much-loved, young jazz virtuoso, has collaborated with many talented artists such as Will Young, Kylie Minogue, Julian Clary, Mica Paris. Adorable Dora with Rosie Ashe

21st August - 5pm

West End Diva Rosie Ashe pays tribute to national treasure Dora Bryan, whose showbiz career spanned eight decades! From pantomime to Shakespeare, Carry On films to a BAFTA winning role in A Taste of Honey, she did it all!

Join us as we celebrate her legend with an evening of music, fun and entertainment. 

Dean Friedman

Wednesday 21st August - 8pm

Catch this legendary singer/songwriter for an unforgettable evening of entertainment.

Richard Shelton's Sinatra

22nd August - 7.30pm

Join Richard for a sublime evening of jazz music and magical storytelling, with tales from London to LA.

Hear about being asked to perform by Royal Command for King Charles at Windsor Castle, Sir Elton John, recording his debut US album, ‘An Englishman in Love in LA’ in Capitol Studios, LA alongside Sinatra’s band mates while using Sinatra’s microphone and performing with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and BBC Concert Orchestras and about the day Sinatra’s very own tuxedo incredibly walked into his life.

The Doc & The Dancer

'The Doc and the Dancer' Dr Harry and Jacquie Brunjes, chat with Biggins.

The Chairman of the English National Opera and his wife who is Chairman of All England Dance talk about their world. Join them in conversation with Biggins, for a little bit of showbiz glamour

Katherine Ryan

Thursday 22nd August - 7pm

The Canadian "Queen of Comedy", Katherine Ryan will be joining our Fringe at Prestonfield programme for 2024. 

Katherine is a much loved fixture on our screens. She has had two global Netflix comedy specials – GLITTER ROOM and IN TROUBLE – and one for Sky – MISSUS. Her tours have sold out across the UK and internationally and the latest, BATTLEAXE, starts this autumn. 

Lulu in Conversation with Christopher Biggins

I Ran With The Gang

The 2014-2018 smash-hit sell-out show telling the story of the original Bay City Roller, Alan Longmuir, returns to where it all began, the Edinburgh Fringe.

Written by award-winning playwright Liam Rudden and featuring the hit songs Bye Bye Baby, Summerlove Sensation, Shang-a-Lang! and more, this brand new production of I Ran With The Gang is a moving tribute to Alan Longmuir, who passed away in 2018.
